3-in-1 and 4-in-1 Swab Testing

One swab, multiple tests

Environmental swabbing is a crucial microbiological process used to test food preparation surfaces, equipment, and utensils for the presence of pathogens. At Hill Labs, we continually adapt and expand our services to meet the growing demand for sustainable solutions.

Our latest innovation helps clients streamline their environmental monitoring programs by utilising both Tempo and PCR technology to test up to four organisms, using just one swab. This advancement not only saves time and effort but also reduces the use of single-use plastics, supporting both operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Our 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 Swab Testing:

  • simplifies sampling
  • increases efficiency
  • reduces waste
  • is extensively validated

The 3-in-1 includes: Enterobacteriaceae enumeration, Salmonella detection and Cronobacter detection.

The 4-in-1 includes: Enterobacteriaceae enumeration, Listeria species detection, L. monocytogenes detection and Salmonella detection.

Hill News August 2024 - Update From Our MD, Dr Jonno Hill

This year our business turns 40, so it is natural that we take some time to reflect on our journey to date, and where we think we might be heading.  One of the things I am particularly proud of at the moment is the increasing attention we're paying to measuring and reducing our environmental footprint.  Running a business in a competitive market requires that many things are done well, and so we are always working hard at our 'business-as-usual' routine services, as well as a portfolio of projects aimed at expanding and improving our business.  As for any business, our key people generally have very little discretionary time, and there is always a list of things to do.  Spending time on environmental sustainability initiatives therefore requires deliberate thought and effort - time that needs to be carved out in an environment where time is of the essence.
